Biography

Caroline provides technical support for the NIWA Invertebrate Collection (NIC) with modern museum practices which includes specimen data entry, accession, registration, processing museum loans and organising the collection. The Collection holds over 300,000 museum specimens from New Zealand’s Exclusive Economic Zone, South Pacific and Antarctica.

Her work also involves analysing and annotating deep-sea videos and still-images using the Deep-Towed Imaging System (DTIS) which is a non-invasive, low-impact method in observing and understanding marine biodiversity and interactions within deep-sea communities.
