NIWA has hundreds of environmental information monitoring stations throughout New Zealand and the Pacific.
These stations operate 24/7 and collect a vast array of environmental information from the upper atmosphere to the sea floor. The collected data is used for research and understanding not just at NIWA, but for the New Zealand pubic, other scientific organisations, meteorology services as well as numerous businesses from farmers to insurance companies.
