Water resources review (July - September)
River flows
Very low river flows occurred in the north of both islands, including some record lows for this time of year in parts of Northland, Nelson, and Marlborough. Conditions were also dry for the time of year in eastern Otago and Southland.
Above normal river flows were measured in Wellington, Wairarapa, Hawke's Bay, and parts of Taranaki and Gisborne.
Flows were near normal in most of the Waikato, the Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, and the western South Island.
