Biography

Dr Svenja Halfter is a plankton ecologist and biogeochemist and has worked at NIWA Wellington since July 2022. Svenja is interested in the impact of climate change on zooplankton diversity, biogeography, and role in the biogeochemical cycles. Their research focus is on temperate and polar zooplankton, including copepods, amphipods and tunicates.
