beam trawl catch - hagfish

We noticed something was odd as soon as we openend the bag at the end of the beam trawl: there was thick slime everywhere. We managed to separate the fish pretty quickly but the entire catch was engulfed in slime.Credit: Kareen Schnabel/NIWA
