Biography
My expertise is in marine and freshwater algal taxonomy and grazing of phytoplankton. I manage NIWA Algal Services which provides algae monitoring for various commercial and local government organisations. My marine research covers algal taxonomy, microzooplankton, microzooplankton grazing effects on carbon flows and understanding the role of, and processes within, the microbial food web. My current marine research is focused on longer term changes in phytoplankton and microzooplankton.
