First phase of Snow and Ice Monitoring Network complete
NIWA has completed the first phase of its national Snow and Ice Monitoring Network (SIN).
Protecting high-altitude monitoring equipment from lightning strikes
High-altitude environmental monitoring stations are often in very exposed places, putting them at risk from lightning strike. Lightning strikes can damage equipment and cause data loss.
Online water the order of the day in new irrigation scheme
The 2010 irrigation season has begun and NIWA is commissioning a new demand-driven irrigation control system. The system enables irrigators to order water online from Canterbury’s newest irrigation scheme.
