Biography

Paula Holland is a development practitioner with specialist skills and knowledge in natural resource economics for sustainable development and risk management (climate change adaptation and disaster risk management). In economic analysis, her experience covers issues such as cost benefit analysis (eg., of risk management interventions), economic valuation and costing of policies (eg., assessment of national disaster risk management action plans). She also has considerable experience in building the capacity of Pacific island government staff in natural resource economics. 

Her work experience covers a variety of sectors including fisheries, waste management, natural hazards, climate change adaptation and conservation. She has conducted work in the Pacific, Australia and northern Europe, in national, international and academic institutions. She has a Master of Science in Rural Resources and Environmental Policy (Imperial College) and an Honours degree in Economics and Geography specialising in resource economics.
