Pygmy current meter

This small bucket wheel current meter has a very low starting velocity and no tail fin, so is ideal for measuring very low flows in shallow water.

The Pygmy is similar to the Price AA meter but scaled down to about 40% of the size of the Price. Pygmy gauging is always done with a hand-held gauging rod.

The Pygmy outputs one contact closure per revolution. There are several contact types available: wiping, reed switch and magnetic head.

The gauging range for the wiping contact type is 0.076 to 0.92 m/sec.

The gauging range for reed switch and magnetic head types is 0.076 to 2.00m/sec.
