A versatile bucket wheel water current meter good for measuring very low flows. It has a tail fin, to allow cable gauging, so can't operate in water as shallow as the Pygmy.
The Price AA (sometimes called a Gurley) may be mounted on a gauging rod or suspended from a cable when doing a water flow gauging. The Price AA is about 2.5 times the size of the pygmy and has a tail fin to enable it to self-centre in the water current when suspended from a cable.
There are two contact types available:
The standard contact closure output gives one pulse per revolution or, at fast speeds, one pulse per five revolutions.
The magnetic reed switch contact closure gives one pulse per revolution.
The gauging range is 0.1 to 3.66 m/sec.
The Price AA comes in a box with two spare pivots, tailfins, oil and oil dipstick.
