Wastewater to bio-oil project

SHARE THIS:

A world leading research project demonstrating wastewater conversion to bio-oil.

Note to the media

NIWA, Solray, and Christchurch City Council are working on a three year research project at Christchurch wastewater treatment ponds that links algae production and conversion. “The project is the first large scale algae production from wastewater ponds with the addition of carbon dioxide. It’s a solution for wastewater as well as an energy generator,” says NIWA, Aquatic Pollution Scientist, Dr Rupert Craggs.

Project funding comes from the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology, and the collaborating organisations.
