Tepals are 3 mm long or less.
- Left: plants are usually more than 10 cm tall, with channelled leaves and a modified leaf (bract) which is longer than the flower head. Juncus caespiticius. [PDF 436 KB]
- Right: plants are usually less than 10 cm tall, with a modified leaf (bract) which is not conspicuous. Juncus antarcticus. [PDF 492 KB]
