Leaves are bristle-like or thread-like (filiform).
- Left: more than one flower head, sometimes (but rarely) one flower head with 3-8 flowers. Plants are usually taller than 2 cm.
- Right: flower heads are solitary, and often single-flowered (although sometimes they have 2-3 flowers). Plants are 2 cm or less tall. Juncus pusillus. [PDF 427 KB]
