Support Services Award winner: Geoff Latimer, IT Projects Manager, Hamilton.
Geoff received the Support Services Excellence Award for managing the seamless migration from Novell to Microsoft without NIWA needing to stop operating. To do this he brought together NIWA’s IT staff across four sites, and external consultants.
The project was likened to performing a heart transplant on a marathon runner while he was running.
