Looking like an ancient oil lamp, two New Zealand species of brachiopods. On the left, Liothyrella neozelanica Thomson, 1918 from 395 m on the Chatham Rise, New Zealand. In the middle, the pink Terebratella haurakiensis Allen, 1931 from 104 m in the Bay of Islands. On the right, Abyssothyris wyvillei (Davidson, 1878) with a long ‘wick-like’ pedicle stalk collected from 915 m on the Challenger Plateau.
