NIWA looks forward to supporting the biennial New Zealand Sea Ice Symposium for 2018. The symposium will be held at Mac's Function Centre, Wellington.
'A Multifaceted Changing World' is this year's theme, and discussion will focus on:
- Changing Antarctic sea ice extent
- Connecting observations with models
- The new Antarctic platform
- Crossing disciplinary boundaries
- Monitoring programmes
- Communicating sea ice research
- The state of the community

This conference will be held at the new Napier War Memorial Conference Centre.
This year's theme is 'Weaving the Strands', drawing together data, disciplines and perspectives to tell the New Zealand Marine Story.The three day conference will pull together a wide range of researchers, industry leaders, consultants and advisors on all things marine related.

This year's event will be hosted by Port Nelson and held at the Rutherford Hotel.
The New Zealand Federation of Commercial Fishermen, "The Fed", is a national body that represents the interests of owner-operator commercial fishermen in New Zealand. The Federation represents members' interests at national, regional and local association levels, and, where appropriate, on an individual basis.
NIWA is proud to support ActInSpace New Zealand.
The event is taking place at GreenHouse in Christchurch on the 25th and 26th May.
ActInSpace is a global space hackathon, with people participating in 60 cities across five continents. This is the first time that ActInSpace is happening in New Zealand, and there are only 50 places for participants!
Teams of two to five compete against eachother, with just 24 hours to devise an innovative and realistic project for a start-up on the basis of challenges set up by CNES, ESA and Airbus and other partners.
