DOBIE INSTRUMENT-SOFTWARE UPGRADE KIT

INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPGRADING:
(1) OPERATING SYSTEM
(2) DOBIE CODE

First, a few explanations:

?	The Operating System (OS) runs on the Tattletale microprocessor inside DOBIE. It is called
TxBASIC and you can think of it as being analogous to MS-DOS on a PC. Note that when
DOBIE presents you with the TxB# prompt, you are talking to the OS.

?	The DOBIE code is a program that runs on the OS. Think of this as being analogous to any
program that runs on MS-DOS on a PC. When you are setting up DOBIE to run and indeed
when DOBIE is running, the DOBIE code is in control.

?	DOBIE reports the version of both the DOBIE code and the OS at the opening screen:

DOBIE A running V19.1 for TxBASIC V4.10

In this case, the DOBIE code is V19.1 and the OS is V4.10.

Important Note
You may upgrade the DOBIE code without upgrading the operating system but if you upgrade
the operating system then you must also upgrade (or reinstall) the DOBIE code.
