Water quality in New Zealand lakes

SHARE THIS:

A NIWA report provides a national snapshot of the current status (2005-2009) and long term trends of water quality in New Zealand lakes.

"Lake Water Quality in New Zealand 2010: Status and Trends" analyses information collected by regional councils about lakes within their region, as part of their State of the Environment reporting. Monitoring varies between the regions.

The report updates two reports commissioned by the Ministry for the Environment in 2006.

It was written by NIWA in collaboration with Opus and the University of Waikato.

The report is available for download from the Ministry for the Environment.
