The National Centre for Water Resources offers training in many aspects of hydrology and water management. Coming up over the next three months:

Acoustic river and stream flow measurements

This course provides an introduction to, and some hands-on practice with, acoustic Doppler equipment.

Hydrological statistics

This course provides an understanding of, and methods for, the estimation of hydrological statistics, including floods and droughts.

Hydrological data processing

This course covers the use of Tideda for data processing and analysis, and is aimed at hydrology technicians who wish to improve their knowledge of the software features and best practice.
When: 11, 12, & 13 October 2006

Identification of NZ native fish

This course is largely laboratory-based, involving identifications from fresh and preserved specimens. It is run jointly with the National Centre for Aquatic Biodiversity and Biosecurity.

Targeted riparian management

This course provides training in how to assess what functions are occurring at different riparian sites and how to target management to optimise these functions.
