The Hydrology of Ungauged Catchments

Date:
19 November 2010 - 12:00am - 20 November 2010 - 4:30am

This course provides an understanding of, and methods for, the estimation of hydrological quantities where continuous flow measurements are not available at the site of interest. The course begins with estimation of mean flow, and proceeds through monthly flow regimes, regional estimation of low flows, and the use of spot low flow gaugings. The course features use of both time series data and geographical information systems, especially the use of the digital river network from the River Environment Classification. Participants are invited to bring along case studies for shared discussion.
