Predicted rainfall

Normal or above normal over the north of the North Island, below normal along the east coast of the South Island, and normal elsewhere.

Outcome

Above normal rainfall in the far north, Whakatane, Gisborne, coastal Otago and the central South Island. Below normal rainfall in the central and western North Island, Tasman, Westport and Southland. Normal elsewhere.

Predicted air temperature

Average or above average in all regions.

Outcome

Mostly below average over the whole country.
