Regional drought potential advisory

Based on rainfall anomaly classification over the past three months and forecast rainfall anomaly classification over the next 3 months.

Tonga: Below to well below normal rainfall experienced over the past 6 months. The forecast for January to March is once again for normal or below normal rainfall.

Fiji: Below to well below normal rainfall experienced since June with the exception of October where rainfall was normal. No clear guidance was available for the January-March forecast period.

Vanuatu, Kiribati (Phoenix): Below to well below normal rainfall experienced in November-December with normal or below rainfall forecast for Vanuatu and no clear guidance for Phoenix Islands.
